Lucas: Special Moves : Dojo Update #117

There’s a character named Ness who has appeared in the Smash Bros. series up until now, and Lucas is very similar. They are from the same family of PK users.

But Lucas’s physical combat style is quite different. By which I mean, he does not have the same standard moves.

screenshot

His strong up attack is a mentally-powered flip kick.

screenshot

He unleashes a PK barrage on the ground with his down smash!

screenshot

The finish of his back air attack is a meteor smash.

screenshot

Oh! Is he grabbing the edge with his rope snake?!

<Side Special Move: PK Fire>

This is also quite different from Ness’s.

screenshot

It flies perfectly sideways, even in air.

screenshot

The flame pillar explodes!

<Standard Special Move: PK Freeze>

screenshot

If you charge it up and control it…

screenshot

You can freeze your opponents!

And even more threatening is his PK Thunder. For those of you unfamiliar with the last game, or the one before that, remember this well.

<Up Special Move: PK Thunder>

screenshot

You guide the PK Thunder with the Control Stick…

screenshot

And hit yourself with it to launch!

Doing this helps you recover.

The angle you launch at depends upon the position at which the PK Thunder hits you. This launch also makes for a rather powerful attack, so I think it’s fine to even try it unexpectedly.

<Down Special Move: PSI Magnet>

This move absorbs the energy of projectile and other attacks and uses it to recover Lucas’s damage. It has a wide range of effectiveness, so give it a try when you get the chance.

If an enemy uses a projectile, that’s your chance.

    Well, I guess this is our answer to “Is Ness going to be back?” Oh well…I didn’t really use him anyway.

    I hope Lucas has that baseball bat so I can still reflect projectiles with it.

  • LinkLuigi156

    A: This DOES NOT MEAN NESS IS GONE.
    B: Lucas uses sticks as his main Weapons and his final *Spoiler if you didn’t play Mother 3* weapon is a Bat, but it is in the 8th Chapter.
    If Ness was truly gone Sakauri would’ve said so. The “until now” is a word ploy and if Ness was kicked out, he will say it and said it eariler!

  • scullum2001

    @ LinkLuigi156 — I’m pretty sure that’s what he meant by the “until now” statement. Sakauri said this: “…Ness who has appeared in the Smash Bros. series up until now.” To me, this means he’s been in previous games, but not in this one. I don’t know how you can take that any other way, dude. Maybe I’m missing it, but I don’t see how. I’ve never heard anyone use those words as a “word play.”

  • Pigeon_Feeder

    well lets hope he comes back,somehow,like as a boss to lucas or sumthin

  • Elliott

    Watch tomorrow be Ness.
    Just watch.
    Sakurai contradicted himself, so we still know if Ness is in or not.
    Simple as that.

  • jamie

    im pretty sure hes gone, dude.

    why would lucas have 3/4 of ness’ standard b moves? they even look the same, almost.

    only chance is ness as an adult, like he is in that game.

    or just another mother 3 character. theres plenty.

  • scullum2001

    sorry, elliott. didn’t happen. ;-)
