Silent Hill 5 and the Wii.

I posted last week on about concerns of “Wii Lacking play time†popping up lately, and now it seems that this type of mentality is starting to affect game development for the Wii.
Most people seem to think that if there is any Wii boredom, it is because there is a lack of interesting titles out there for the console. This seems like a bit of a catch 22.
Gamepro reports that a designer for Konami said he doubts that Silent Hill 5 will be released for the Wii, due to Wii “usage concernsâ€Â. If this is in fact the case, then maybe someone should tell Konami that if they make an interesting product, people will buy it.
Would Silent Hill 5 be an interesting product for the Wii? Probably to many. I kind of have my doubts based on the last Silent Hill game I played (that is more based on my opinion of the game and really has nothing to do with the console), but I think the franchise is a big enough hit to spark some interest, especially with what would potentially be a new spin on it with the Wii Controls.
But I guess Konami doesn’t think it’s worth it to even try. Hopefully this kind of thinking won’t be too contagious among game developers. It’s hard to believe that it is even a concern at this point since retailers can’t even keep the consoles on the shelves.
