If you want to join a group - of people who want Silent Hill games on the Wii - go to facebook and look for me - Dave Hall - and join the group. I'll put all the names of people on the list and send it to Konami - with a ransom letter :) - letting them know just how many people want to see these great games on the WII and hopefully they might change their minds.

Konami always treated Nintendo consoles as kiddy, thats why they never really released MGS for Nintendo except through silicon knights, and it was a remake. It's also the reason why we get kiddy ass games like elebits and dewy's adventure instead of silent hill and metal gear solid.

"The Wii user isn’t a hardcore user."

Sigh... I wish developers would get this idea out of their tiny minds. They can't realise how much money they're losing because of this attitude.

I own a Wii but not a 360 or PS3. There's several reasons: money (I can't afford to buy the other consoles right now), I don't own HD equipment so have no need for HD gaming, I have a PC for any FPS/RTS I want to play, I prefer the Wii controls and I still have a PS2. I still consider myself more than a casual gamer though. I've run through Zelda, Godfather and Final Fantasy XII recently, for instance, and I'm going to buy MP3 next week when it comes out (I'm in Europe).

If any Silent Hill games were released for the Wii, I'd buy it in an instant. I'm sure many people here would be the same. If developers just get rid of their stupid assumptions, then we can prove them wrong. This is no different to the attitude that the Japanese had towards Western gamers during the 90s - it was assumed that a Western audience wouldn't 'get' RPGs like Final Fantasy, right up until they decided to try translating and releasing them. The same will happen for these so-called hardcore games when developers wake up and realise that there's an audience for any games they want to release.

Well, it doesn't necessarily mean it's not coming to Wii. He just says no plans. Also keep in mind, Akira is only the sound designer, He's not the lead developer. There may be a different version for Wii. Like Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, maybe we'll see a spin-off. Or maybe a portable Silent Hill for Nintendo DS, who knows.

Silent Hill is one of the most notable genre-defining franchise that deserves a spot in the Wii library. It shouldn't be limited to certain platforms.

Also, an arcade version of Silent Hill has just been released in Japan, and it's in FPS form with multiplayer support. I believe it'd be a great idea to port that arcade version to Wii instead. Otherwise, there's always PC version.

Wii+DS+PC = All I need for gaming. \:D/

As a note, Yamaoka said it in terms of current moment. The Wii doesn't need SH5, but a side-story game which allows both developers and players to experience all the strengths of the console without last minute gimmicks tacked on. Sounds of the unnatural played from the remote's speaker, find a way to drop freakish notes and cryptic clues in the Wii's message board, perhaps even linking the photo channel to drag in the player's photos/pictures into nightmarish flashes. Sure you could have the remote act as a flashlight and swing to club things to death, but there's PLENTY of things that the Wii can do that will dump the player into the world more than anything on the 360, or PS3.

Developers now are so close minded now. All I have to say is "SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE AND GO WHERE THE MONEY IS!!!" Square Enix, EA, Capcom, Sega, Rockstar, Activision and some other companies already know it and are making their best for the Wii.

Even if the wii isn't for the "hardcore"(which it is) and they make MGS or SH for the wii it WILL sell millions, look at twin snakes for the GC, a blockbuster hit which sold millions and Nintendo was in last place that time, imagine what would it be like now that the Wii has a strong base.

Then why did RE:4 Wii sell so well despite being a remake of a game previously released on two systems?

Sure, it's their loss. Because I'm not going to buy a 360 or ps3 in order to play their game. Yet if it came out on the wii (even with worse graphics) they would have made a sale. Oh well.

This isn't a big loss, the Silent Hill games aren't anything major. However, I don't want any more third party developers thinking this. The Wii is clearly the most immersive system, and is best suited for hardcore games. All that's left is some companies(other than Nintendo) working on major titles.

They should give wii a chance, It would cool to use the wii remote as a flash light, think about it, pointing the wiimote at a monster, it would be cooler than doing it with a joystick.
