According to Canada.com, Nintendo has made a deal with video game publisher THQ allowing them to design games featuring their intellectual property.

The deal with THQ will run until October 13, 2009. It will give them the right to market and develop games for the Nintendo Wii within the Western Hemisphere.

Nintendo will have the right to refuse any games THQ develops and has the final say on printed materials, marketing materials, and even the packaging of the game itself.

This is a pretty big deal in the gaming world, Nintendo is known for being very protective of it’s intellectual property.

  • hi
YEA BABY!! Maybe we will se some RED Faction 3
  • I read that Rainbow Studios, established by THQ, is developing an action/adventure game exclusively for Wii (Kid Icarus anyone?).

They've been known for games such as Disney+Pixar's Cars, Motocross Madness (for PC), ATV and the MX series.

  • Hell no, THQ make terrible games!

Unless they have actually employed some decent people within the last 10 seconds this might not be such a good idea Nintendo.

This might be good, I just hope THQ can put in the same level of effort as, say, Retro and not end up with games like the CD-i Zeldas. Somehow, Nintendo's "seal of approval" didn't cut it in the NES days, so I'm hopeful but a little pessimistic.
