Lucas: Dojo Update #92

The youth with the psychic powers has appeared—it’s Lucas! He makes his anticipated debut from the Japan-only release MOTHER 3.

While he is timid in nature, he fights splendidly. Is it possible he can surpass even Ness?!

    Just a Ness clone? Do you know anything about Mother 3? You can singlehandedly see the difference between the characters in the lower-left screenshot. Ness doesn’t have an electrical attack. At the very worst, he’ll probably be a Luigi-style clone in which they have some of the same basic attacks but different enough to have entirely separate playstyles.

    The only real question is whether or not Ness makes it into Brawl. He has two game seniority but Lucas is the newest Mother protagonist. It also doesn’t help that they’re very similar in appearances. Slap a hat and a backpack on Lucas and you’ve got Ness. Sure, you could say the same about Jigglypuff and Kirby or Mario and Luigi but it’s still interesting to think about.

    Yes, similar in appearance to Ness, but not in abilities or tactics. I am also wondering if Ness will make it. He was alluded to in this update, so maybe that’s a hint that he’ll be in it…maybe.

    Im pretty sure Ness will probably be announced very soon. I would be very sad if they didnt include him this year!

    Hologram, what do you mean ness dosent have a lighting attack?

    I thought Ness had his up+b attack which was a lighting bolt you could control.

    D’oh! I meant to say he didn’t have that specific electrical attack that Lucas is shown using. Nice catch and correction, Josh. :)

    That’s a side air attack, and yeah Ness did have that, but it was smaller. Ness will comeback, just wait and see. Lucas is the hero of the new MOTHER game, but highly doubt that Mother 3 is coming, Until, I think, both Mother 1 and 2 came to the USA VC.
