World-wide gaming retail giant GameStop had the following to say in regards to the Wii:

“I give Nintendo a lot of credit. They set out a goal to expand the consumer base, and I give them credit, they did a great job of it. I have one in my house. As I mentioned, I have a 7 year old boy, and a 5 year old daughter, and we all sit around the TV. They like playing some of those mini-games, whether it’s fishing, or some of the easier games. Even though they’re mini-games, there is a lot of good entertainment value in those, and they’ve done a good job of marketing that. And releasing them, not only at the launch, but also having them bundled in [with the hardware], to give the consumer a taste of the gameplay, then having the subsequent launches of more [titles including] mini-games.”

GameStop itself said this? Wow; I’ve never see a company use the pronoun I or talk about its children.

What “GameStop” is missing is a lot of great games like Super Paper Mario, Twilight Princess ,and Super Mario Strikers. The Wii is not just a system for minigames, although many third-party developers are doing their best to make it so.

I love it when “Gamestop” has something to say. It always sounds like they have zero concept on the very thing they are selling. What the hell kind of statement is this, where the most spectacular comment on a system almost a year old has to do with a launch title? Please stop trying to bandwagon. Where were you EVER through the history of Nintendo gaming? Even when the Wii is the hottest thing on the planet you try to find the worst place in the shop to sell its products, GC titles have been in the corner for years. I absolutely despise the way you do business and you’ve done next to nothing to better the industry as your employees often spread lies and biases about products like used car salesmen. I’m proud to say that I’ve never pre-ordered or bought a new game from your establishment. Give credit when credits due and stop down playing the success of Nintendo as the current age of gaming would be non-existent without their brand.
