Factor 5, the developer behind Rogue Squadron and Lair, told RevoGamers that developers are not pushing the Wii when it comes to the more realistic games and that future Factor 5 titles on the Wii is a possibility.

“My complaints were actually about the games which try to go the traditional, more photorealistic route, because there you really have to push it, and they’re really not pushing it,” Factor 5 president, Julian Eggebrecht said. “The console’s architecture is easy to understand, reasons Eggebrecht, who goes on to speculate that developers and/or publishers are “discarding the graphical capabilities simply because it is a Wii title, and they’re basically telling the developers ‘look, we won’t pay for any advanced graphics’.”

Eggebrecht points out the graphical achievements of Resident Evil 4 and Rouge Squadron as evidence that great graphics are possible on the Wii. According to Eggebrecht, the system clock rate alone allows developers to do “much more advanced things.”

His last comment reveals that Factor 5 is working on several titles which at this time have no firm platform. They “might be Wii… we’re totally open to that.”

I wouldn't complain about this... this is exactly what the Wii needs. Some major developers finally realizing the Wii's potential and then raising the bar. Once third parties start releasing high quality graphics on the Wii, it will help push all the other publishers/developers to push their graphics. Nintendo releasing beatiful games is obvious but when 3rd parties do it, thats when the Wii will break free from the PS2 port issue. I believe the Wii is supposed to be a little more powerful than the Xbox 1, and do any of you remember how Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive, and Otogi looked.... I can't wait and now with engines like 'Gamebryo' (oblivion) supporting the Wii, its just a matter of time before the Wii is in gaming heaven.... muwhahahahha
  • Less talking and more developing.
C'mon, where are those graphically enhanced games!
I've yet to witness a game that combines both realistic and cartoon style of visual. *Hint \:D/

Resident Evil having top graphics on the Wii?
    No way.
Not even close, they can do MUCH better.

    Gosh I hope so.

He sure talks a lot. Why not make a Wii title today instead of tomorrow. There are plenty of gamers clamoring for Factor 5 to finally announce something for the Wii.

    That's exciting!
