Factor 5 Says Great Graphics on Wii is Possible September 12, 2007

Factor 5, the developer behind Rogue Squadron and Lair, told RevoGamers that developers are not pushing the Wii when it comes to the more realistic games and that future Factor 5 titles on the Wii is a possibility.
“My complaints were actually about the games which try to go the traditional, more photorealistic route, because there you really have to push it, and they’re really not pushing it,” Factor 5 president, Julian Eggebrecht said. “The console’s architecture is easy to understand, reasons Eggebrecht, who goes on to speculate that developers and/or publishers are “discarding the graphical capabilities simply because it is a Wii title, and they’re basically telling the developers ‘look, we won’t pay for any advanced graphics’.”
Eggebrecht points out the graphical achievements of Resident Evil 4 and Rouge Squadron as evidence that great graphics are possible on the Wii. According to Eggebrecht, the system clock rate alone allows developers to do “much more advanced things.”
His last comment reveals that Factor 5 is working on several titles which at this time have no firm platform. They “might be Wii… we’re totally open to that.”
