ONM – retracts Mario Kart Wii speculation September 6, 2007

The details printed in Official Nintendo Magazine 21 regarding Mario Kart Wii were healthy speculation on our part and are in no way an official announcement from Nintendo.

@neoatlex — yeah, that’s what I think. they just spilled some info ahead of time, and Nintendo told them they better say something in terms of retracting it.
I guess we’ll find out soon enough… (I can’t wait!!)

It’s funny how this piece of news shows up from nowhere and turns into such a big deal when Reggie actually confirmed all those stuff at the last E3 along with the release of Mario Kart Wii

Reggie confirmed 12 not 16 player.
I think that’s why it’s a big deal although it’s not a big difference.

@ paq and Max — Did Reggie say anything about the stunts? I don’t recall that. And the 12 player thing… Didn’t we just see 12 on the video? I don’t remember him saying there will definitely be 12 and only 12.

the videos in E3 showed Wario doing stunts while in the air, also the video showed 12 positions in the race. battle mode was confirmed for online as well so the only ‘new’ news is the whole recreation of the DS tracks and the 16 player thing, which isn’t a big deal (12 or 16 is all good with me)

Yesterday my little brother (10) was playng with my Wii, like in the mii channel and he was smashing keys and stuff and this very weird thing appears in the mii channel that says Connect to DS but I have no DS and I don’t get it, is it a new thing for games ’cause I’ve never heard of it, it is really really weird.

Nintendo also denied that Zelda would play on the Wii. I think it is real.
