Guitar Hero 3 online play for Wii.

Wii rockers will be able to battle online, but no downloadable tunes at launch.

 

There have been rumors going around that GH3 would not be online when it lounched for Wii ,but RedOctane has confirmed to Pro-G that the upcoming Wii version of Guitar Hero III will feature online play when it launches later this year. However, players looking forward to expanding the track list will have to wait.

“There will, in fact, be Online gameplay for the Wii when Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock launches in late October,” said RedOctane’s Jordan Dodge. “However, there will not be Downloadable content available on the Wii at launch. That, we are still working with Nintendo on.”

    To be honest, i will not be getting this game but I really hope they seal this deal with Nintendo. The reason is this will help pave the way for other third parties to work with nintendo and get their games online. Since nintendo doesn’t charge for online they probably are more picky about what they will support online… who knows though?

    Well 360 is getting some killer bonus tunes with the release of what I like to call, an extra ploy to earn money to pay off the bands that let us use tier master tracks, GH3 Soundtrack. Now these tracks are going to be available via GH2 though:
    Trivium-“Detonation“
    Atreyu-“Right Side Of The Bed”
    Protest The Hero-“Bury The Hatchet

    And the code for those who buy that soundtrack will unlock these 360 tunes for GH3:
    Marilyn Manson – “Putting Holes In Happiness” (remix done by Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs)
    Flyleaf – “Tina”
    AFI – “Carcinogen Crush” (previously unreleased)

    So who knows, maybe Nintendo will listen to thier loyal fans and let this happen so we can get some extra songs, Im pushing for All That Reamins’ “Not Alone” of B4MV’s “4 Words To Choke Upon” or “Scream, Aim, And Fire” or Megadeth’s “Washington Is Next”

    As a wii and a 360 owner I would just like to say the downloadable content features songs from velvet revolver and foo fighters. Also the boss battle songs become playable and thats about all I know for downloadable content
