Wii Remote Keyring With ONM August 28, 2007

Filed under: News — fadecy @ 10:46 am

This issue, Official Nintendo Magazine (UK) gave away a Wiimote keyring as a free gift, along with a Sonic Rush Adventure mini poster and stickers.

While the latter 2 gifts I was pleased with, I was not pleased with the Wiimote keyring; it is VERY lightweight making it feel cheap, the home button is off centre and the power button is upside down. It also has a number of Black marks and the lettering is faded and blocky.

I will be doing a video tour of this month’s magazine within the next couple of days, so look forward to it.

  • I have mine here: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1341/1055114515_...

It came perfect, but I've been carrying with me and pressing the light too much that the 1 button is faded.

No I think the one they give away with brain academy is flat and metalic, this one is different.
And to people who say it's free, please don't, because if they didn't have the gifts they could probably lower the magazine price about £1, but it helps attract more customers so they have no reason to drop it.
  • I dunno, it's kinda like sex with your sister. Yeah it's free and all, but it's still pretty lame.

There's only one official Nintendo magazine and that honor belongs to Nintendo Power! I refuse to recognize any others.

is this the same keyring and the big brain one they give out? the one big brain gave out actually had a blue led light and doesn't look that cheap

i was on the nintendo site today registering prime 3 and saw that if you register your copy of big brain academy: wii degree, you can get one of those keyrings as a thank you gift. i thought they looked cool (though i don't have the game to get one here in the states) but if they're crap i don't really want one anymore. oh well

Ive got mine. cheap and tacky but when i get hold of a USB flash drive im gonna put it inside the keychain and i will have a wiimote memory drive:D
  • You have to think though, it -was- a free product

My keyring was also perfect apart from an upside down power button :L Looks like you got the short straw. Your power button looks like a 2 year old has attempted to draw it on. Don't know whether to laugh or not.

Meh, you're lucky, I'll probably just sell mine on ebay in a few months or something
  • Mine was pretty perfect, apart from power being upside down. Still though. A nice FREE gift.
  • Yes, well one that doesn't have black marks messed up logos and feel like something from a street stall.
It is from Nintendo's official magazine after all.
