Tough Decision – August Editon
           vs.
(Bumped 2 times in honor of the Metroid Prime 3 coming out TOMORROW!)
A tough decision is coming at the end of this month. August 27th is going to see the simultaneous release of Metroid Prime: Corruption and the highly anticipated…Carnival Games! I know our readers are reeling at the thought of having to decide between these two potentially AAA titles; that’s why we’re here to help make it a little easier. Hit the jump to help you make the right choice in this Tough Decision.
Round One: Number of Games
Metroid
While Metroid Prime: Corruption is boasting an extremely robust singleplayer game, it’s still only a singular game. Technically, we could count two games, if we were to consider the fact that players will get to pilot Samus’ ship for the first time ever, a separate game.
Total Number of Games : 2
Carnival Games
Now we’re talking. Carnival Games is exploding with over twentyfive games. With a $40 price tag, that means each game costs less than $2. Each game is a fully fleshed out experience of different carnie favorites like: virtual frog leap, virtual dunk tank, and even a virtual swami to fulfill all your Tom Hanks-ian fantasies.
Total Number of Games: Over 25
Round One Winner:
Round Two: Number of Prizes
Metroid
Although Metroid promises many rewards, like playing with what is reportedly the best FPS controls on the Wii to date, and expansive, classic prime play-style, I’d have to stick with the terminology reward, and not prize. In fact, while I can’t confirm this, I don’t think you have the opportunity to win a single prize in Metroid.
Total number of prizes: 0
Carnival Games
Now we can talk about some serious prizes!!! Carnival games has so many virtual prizes they’ll be coming out of your virtual ears! With over 250 prizes to win, you’re virtual wealth could probably, at least, double after snagging a few of these suckers. Great virtual prizes like virtual goldfish, virtual pirate swords, and even virtual giant stuffed animals. Of course, it seems I should mention the giant stuffed animals are only as giant as your TV, so I guess it stands that projector owners will benefit the most.
Total number of prizes: Over 250
Round Two Winner:
 Round Three: Customization
Metroid
Metroid is going to allow you to play as probably the single most revered female in gaming, of all time, but are you going to be able to add sweet “bling” to her spacesuit? Sadly, no. Your customization will be limited to changing visors, which, honestly doesn’t count because it’s kind of neccesary to beat the game. On top of that, the visors aren’t pink or sparkly, they’re the xray visor, allowing you to shoot through walls, and the command visor, allowing you to remotely control your ship. Whatev.
Customization: Limited
Carnival Games
Carnival Games has got it going on! Talk about customization; on top of the virtual giant stuffed animals you can win, you can also win all kinds of accessories to make your virtual self virtually awesome. Such accessories include the (according to Take 2) “famous” viking horns, and even the sweet (and I quote) “‘bling’ necklace.” Sign me up!
Customization: Unlimited
Round Three Winner:
Verdict
It seems pretty obvious that the best choice for your gaming needs in the month of August is Carnival Games, delivering a total knockout to the final game in the Prime trilogy: Metroid Prime: Corruption. Nevermind that you see it on countless lists and may have even bought a Wii solely for the game, it just can’t hold a candle to the gaming goodness that is Carnival Games.  No need to have your wallets thank me, I’m just doing my job.
