IGN gives Corruption a 9.5

Cassamasina delivered a review at 12:01 PST sharp on Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, with an amazing score of 9.5. Here’s a portion of the review:

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was originally set to launch with Wii, but the year-long delay has been very much worth the wait. Call it a first- person shooter or a first-person adventure — doesn’t matter. I call it the best game on Nintendo’s console. It is clear from the moment you pick up the controller that Prime 3 was developed exclusively for Wii. Not only do the new controls respond quicker and with more precision than any dual-analog-helmed FPS ever created, but the gesture system works brilliantly, too. Meanwhile, the title delivers everything a Metroid fan could hope for, including spectacular environmental puzzles, epic boss fights and intense combat, all wrapped up in a package that spans multiple worlds and is filled with re-traversal exploration. A cinematic storyline made possible by beautiful art and graphics rounds out the experience, which is complemented by a medal system and WiiConnect24 compatibility.

uh, i just read the full review, and they gave it a 9.8, not 9.5

    FourTails:
No, they said that if this was the first game in the series they would have given it a 9.8. However, since we have already seen this game twice before but just with standard controls (Metroid Prime 1 & 2), they gave it a 9.5.

Put simply, they docked .3 because it’s very similar to the original games but with a new control scheme. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it’s just that since this isn’t a 100% fresh game they docked the score.

Yeah…you didn’t read very carefully. haha. Gamestop confuses everyone. Listen carefully:

Gamestop/EB list the SHIPPING date. The SHIPPING date is almost never the same as the release date.
Nintendo has the RELEASE date listed. The RELEASE date is the day you’ll be picking up the game.

Gamestop lists today as the SHIPPING date, and Ninty lists tomorrow as the RELEASE date.

You aren’t going to find the game today, except by mistake of the retailer.
