EA Is Still Working Hard On Madden ’08

When Madden 08 was released, we played a few single player rounds and jumped straight into online. Only to be disappointed.

The gameplay worked the same, but there was terrible lag, you would make the gesture to throw the ball and 3 seconds later it would be shown on screen.

EA released a statement that said the following:

“ Now that Madden NFL 08 is available, the development team at EA is doing some tweaking to make sure our online experience is as smooth as possible. Since there is currently a high volume of people playing online, this is the best time for us to monitor and maximize the experience. As updates are taking place over the next 24 hours, some fans may experience an interruption in online play. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience as we make the necessary updates.�

    MADDEN IS HORRIBLE! When does EA’s ownership of rights to NFL games expire? The NFL2K series is SO MUCH better. They incorporated new ideas, such as first person view, and a franchise mode that was 10x more indepth and unlockables that were WAY cooloer. Plus a control system that was way more responsive and fast paced. Not to mention the fact that you could actually make a difference in the defensive play instead of practically just sitting there waiting to get the ball to actually have a little fun on offense. EA is horrible and evil and should let Sega get back to making the 2K series for the NFL. STUPID STUPID EA! STUPID! MADDEN SUCKS! Sorry, just had to get that out there… NFL2K was keepin it fresh and EA had to go and do the wussy thing and knock out by buying rights.

    I’ve played 4 games online, first two were unplayable, the last two (last night) were flawless. Perfect frame rate and no problem connecting. I think it’s hit or miss right now, having two high speed connection (with nothing downloading/uploading on your network) tend to working fairly well.

    I just played Charged for the first time last night. It worked perfectly fine… no trace of lag.
    I am optimistic for games to come.

    Good Point. I never experienced lag on Strikers either, this is strictly a developers issue.

    wow i never get lag when i play madden 08, and ive been playing it alot. Ive never lagged out of a game or nothing, my connection is smooth.
