Wii at E3: highlights
* The Wii Zapper! Kinda like the NES lightgun, but more awesome, the zapper will be for use with Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Sega’s Ghost Squad, Medal of Honor and no doubt every other shooter. The Zapper will be packaged with games, and costs $19.99.
* Super Smash Bros. Brawl hits shelves on Dec. 3rd. It can’t come fast enough!
* Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the DS got a little love with a demo of the all-touch interface.
* Check Mii Out: A new channel where you send in your Miis to be evaluated and voted upon by others.
* Online Advances: Nintendo’s consoles have never been top dog when it comes to online, but the following online Wii titles might change that: Mario Strikers Charged, Madden NFL 08 and FIFA 08 will soon be online.
* Mario Kart on Wii, also online, drops early in 2008.
* Steering Wheel: Comes with Mario Kart.
* Brain Age 2 is out in the US on August 20.
* Super Mario Galaxy drops November 12th.
* The Nintendo Fat Mat was shown. Okay, it’s not called the Fat Mat, but we think it should be. It’s actually called a Wii balance board. The wireless, weight-sensitive mat comes with Wii Fit, a fitness trainer game. You might think you’re too hardcore for it, but imagine the possibilities of a balance and weight sensitive mat combines with SSX Tricky or a Tony Hawk game. See what we’re saying?
