Great news for all you out there still hunting for a Wii. Nintendo recently announced that they plan to bump up production of the Wii in an attempt to meet the high demand for the console.

“For the first three months of this year we have been producing one million hardware units per month. We are increasing the manufacturing capacity and forecast to ship 14 million in this fiscal year to our distributors and retail customers globally,”

So I guess that equals a 2 million per fiscal year increase in Wii production. This announcement follows Nintendo’s recent reports that 5.84 million Wiis have been sold since its launch as of the end of their fiscal year.
