Check Friend Online / Offline Status in Mario Strikers April 24, 2007
WiiLiving has a nice review of recently released Mario Strikers screenshots. The one that sticks out me is a shot that shows whether players on your friends list are online or not, ,in addition to all of their Strikers stats. This is a great feature and brings Nintendo’s online service a small step closer towards XBox Live-esque functionality. Hopefully this functionality will exist among other online games.

Discuss this and more in our forums.

Sweet! If only there weren’t game-specific friend codes…

you can still play random games—friend codes are for just…playing your friends

Hmmm… If you can click Add friend and pick one off your Wii console list, that might be good, then you wouldn’t have all your friends who don’t have strikers (or whatever game your playing) cluttering up your in game list. And if you entered a friend code in-game, it would add it into your console list. It may work like that. I’d be happy with that. I still demand oice chat with freinds though. VOICE CHAT! Or at least that “talk-into-mic-text-apears-on-screen” crap. But I DEMAND chat with freinds. In game, and pregame and post game.
