pokemon diamondNintendo said on Tuesday it expected upcoming video games “Pokemon Diamond” and “Pokemon Pearl” for its hand-held DS to be among the top-selling U.S. games of 2007, based on presales of more than 533,000.

- The games will introduce players to more than 100 new Pokemon characters.

- The new games will hit U.S. store shelves on April 22.

- Early orders are more than twice as strong as the presale numbers for “Pokemon FireRed” and “Pokemon LeafGreen”, which launched in 2004 and went on to sell more than 3.4 million units combined in North America.

People say that pokemon is por kids but I play it. I like the game. It's cool to fight other people and get our pokemons stronger and stronger... I don't care if people say that is for kids because i like the game and it's not because people say that i'm gonna stop playing... I'l continue playing even when I have 40 years!!! Pokemon is the best game i've ever played. But I live in Portugal so it looks like i'l have to wait a looooooooooong time to play Pkmn Diamond...

I too think that the pokémon franchise is childlish and in most cases just mass produced junk, but even so... the games can actually create very entertaining sessions...

  • i have played and completed all the version right from the first one on the gameboy and loved them all. i am 22 and have got the new version pre-ordered (us version as we are unlikely to see it europe pre setpember). anyway, you have to love pokemon, its amazing and fun to play.

Yeah I don't really get the pokemon thing but oh well, whatever makes people happy :) I know young kids like all kinds of toys and sets that you have to gather. You know, different parts and all that. So pokemon was a sure hit when it was released to the public ages ago but it's just weird that people still buy basically the same game over and over again. Yeah I know they have their differences, I've tested them all (because you can't really say something sucks unless you've actually tried it yourself for more than 5 minutes :)), but seeing kids where I live always with BOTH versions of the games (you know red/green etc) is a bit strange. Gotta be the "collect them all" attitude. I know when I was young I wanted all the transformers and not just one..
  • ewwww
