Super Mario Galaxy (PAL) coming June 1st, 2007? April 17, 2007
According to Play.com, Super Mario Galaxy (PAL) is available June 1st, 2007. Normally I’d just blow these things off, but a lot of the major reatailers were the first to show the actually Mario Party 8 release. Normally NTSC region games are released first, so we’ll see what comes of this…
That being said, take this with a grain of salt… IGN has the PAL version being released in March 2007, I think they need to update.

It would seem wierd for nintendo to release it so soon after paper mario. You know nintendo. they like to make sure everyone is playing the same nintendo franchised games at the
same time. :p

Shanoboy, I think you’re right.
Another thing I’ve been looking at is that Mario Party 8 (PAL) isn’t being released until after the US (NTSC) version, MAYBE the US is getting Mario Party 8 and the UK (PAL) are getting Mario Galaxy??
It’s all just theories at this point…

These outdated release dates are common among all online stores. There’s just not enough time to update every single product on every single page on time, especially if you got a small crew.
Nah, from personal experience, I know Galaxy won’t be out anytime around summer. Guaranteed closer to the end of the year, probably around the Wii’s 1st birthday.
I preordered my Mario Party 8 from another site that said it’d be released back in March. When the time came, they scratched out the date. Now that the release date has been confirmed, here’s what it says now: “This product will be in stock and ready to ship on Wednesday 30 May, 2007.”
It’s not just Super Mario Galaxy, look what BestBuy says for Metroid Prime 3 (12/31/07 – New Year’s Eve).

Would be odd to have Mario Party 8 coming state side at the same time that Galaxy was released to UK. Making both games virtually old by the time they came out to the other country. It would make since that both titles have worldwide release states. My prediction is that we’ll see Mario Party 8 this summer and Galaxy for a holiday release. Metroid Prime will likely hit in the Fall. In not Winter of 08′. I see the Nintendo brand games coming out every 3 months or so (quarterly).

Play.com in particular are notorious for their unrealistically early release dates to encourage preorder sales. I bought Loco Roco on there expecting it in a week then they updated their site to show it was coming out three months later.
Ignore it.
