I entered computers way back in 70/71 and was using programmable calculators with nixie tubes. Then got into 2002/2008/8080/z80/etc. Then it was CP/M and had PascalMT+ from one of the people mentioned in Gates history who lived up in Solana Beach who I believe developed concurrent CP/M 86 or MP/M. What most people don’t realize is that Gates is mostly a business person (yah, maybe knows some programming) and took what at the time was called QDOS (Quick and Dirty Operating System) and maybe reworked it into PC-DOS. Later IBM got involved, bought the OS and Gates went on w/MS and called it MS-DOS. QDOS I believe came from Canada and he exploited it here in US. Made a fortune but a chief architect, hah. Mostly a business oriented Harvard graduate not a s/w engineer at heart. But as time evolved, his OS became a “defacto” standard and all jumped on the band wagon. I credit the people he hired to work on OS’s and apps more than him on the evolution as flawed as may be in many areas as he probably made decisions not too popular with developers.

Story: "Anyone who says Bill Gates is not "far-seeing" is kidding themselves."

Anyone who hasn't yet figured out that Nintendo is a force to be reckoned with, is deaf, dumb, blind, and quite dead. Sorry, bub, but Microsoft is still reacting.

Why can't anyone seperate the news from the photoshopped pictures that go along with them? Just because the news was posted with a picture obviously touched up no very long ago doesn't make the news itself old.

It also could be simply because he's talking to japan, which we know, is still basically owned by nintendo, unlike the us, where before the release of the wii, found itself an uphill battle in north america. For the most part, they still have one, it's too early to declare nintendo the winner this time around, but I think we'll know in a year, since by then halo 3 will have come out, as well as MP:3 corruption, and maybe sony will come up with something... another FF perhaps?
