Nintendo asks for more Take-Two Support

In an interview with Newsweek, Reggie Fils-Aime mentioned the importance of support from 3rd party developers; namely Take-Two who produce games that Nintendo doesn’t generally do. Of course we’ve had the announcement that Manhunt is coming to Wii as well as rumors of GTA coming as well but where are the sports titles?!

With 2K Sports buying the rights to MLB Baseball for the next few years, they are our only chance of seeing a real MLB baseball game on the Wii. EA has started producing college baseball games since then and given that we’ve seen an installment of Madden on Wii, we could possible see a quality college baseball game sometime in the near future. But I want some MLB action on Wii, and The Bigs doesn’t cut it!

What’s really the most frustrating is that we have to rely on one single publisher for MLB (or NFL) licensed games since both Take-Two and EA have bought all the rights to both the leagues respectively.

    Man I’m glad I’m not a sports game fan. The crap that you all have been forced to put up with is ridiculous. Contract deals across made with single developers, reducing the chance for competition
