The DS Keeps on Rollin’ March 22, 2007

It seems like students who have DS developmental kits in Japan can create their own games, and in turn, let other people play a demo of them at kiosks stationed throughout their country. The games currently available include a drawing game centered around correspondence with music and sketching objects from a song in order, etc. No word yet on any stateside plans.

A Nintendo of Europe representative says that he has solid proof of an emerging DS wireless headset that will be set to launch sometime soon after the release of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl in the states, but unfortunately no external Wii hard drive. More as it develops.

And lastly, it sure seems like, according to analysts predictions, that the DS will eventually be the most sold system, handheld or console, of all time, if the pace keeps up. The DS already sold over 40 million (that’s almost twice that of Cube, which is sitting at around 24 million). He proclaimed that by 2011, both current handeheld systems will see more sales than the big three current gen consoles, the PS3, Wii, and XBox360.
