A Wii Exclusive Resident Evil in 2007

Capcom has announced some new exciting details on its Wii exclusive Resident Evil game due out later this year. The game, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is to be a separate title from Resident Evil 5 due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Of course the Wii version will work to take advantage of the console’s unique controller giving us an exciting new survival horror experience.

It’s still a bit speculative, but most report that this Resident Evil game might work to fill holes between the plots of the first 4 R.E. games as opposed to extending the plot further (which is what I assume R.E. 5 will do).

Regardless of the plot, what I am most excited about are the details surrounding the release of the game. One, It’s another extremely strong Wii exclusive title that will be sure to draw more gamers to the console. And secondly, the game is being developed by Clover Studios who were also responsible for Okami and the Viewtiful Joe series. Couple this with the fact that Resident Evil 4 was easily one of the most beautiful games to date on the Gamecube and we’re sure to see the true graphical power of the Wii come to life! Oh, and did I mention its due out THIS YEAR?!

    I love resident evil games…..but strangely…I’m
    not too excited for this one….I mean…it might be fun for the wii and all but,Ahhhh…knowing the wii
    the game’s graphics wont be as good as RE4….and the
    title of the game is a little akward,I mean come on
    “umbrella chronicles”……but hopefullly I’m wrong
    and what am I to say….you judge a book by it’s cover
    ….well when I rent it maybe I’ll have differnt oppinions

    I’m sure this game WILL look better than RE 4 because we are dealing more sophisticated hardware with the Wii (not sure what you mean Pigeon by “knowing the Wii”). I’m hoping the game will add some clarity to the story line as I understood 4 has nothing to do with Zombies and the series lost me after RE 2. Does anyone know where the story continued after that? I thought they were supposed to go to the Umbrella headquarters. Also, most of us know how shoddy the movies have been thrown together, they shed no light on anything but how bad techno music can be in a “horror” film.

    correct me if i am wrong but i thought capcom closed down clover earlier this year for some unknown reason, i mean i would love for them to develop this game, but that’s what i heard and read on several very reliable websites
