I've also been staying awake thinking about this possible companionship since DSLite's launch.

It'd be nice to see a little 3rd-party support from Apple brand. Possibly a piece of software, or WiiWare I should say, like how there's the browser from Opera. Maybe an iTunes built in for the Wii's Music Channel, with QuickTime for Video Channel.

These are just my crazy imaginations, but they may be possible, and I'm really hoping Reggie is able to convince them.

Then I also read in an AOL article that what if Apple decides to come out with its own video game system? On account, they've recently released some small games for the iPod. Wouldn't that be a surprise competition. The world wouldn't be a happier place~! \:D/

I agree with your second point as well, although the Wii IS being a lot more 3rd party friendly. Problem now is how friendly are the 3rd parties going to be with the Wii? I think it'll take another RE4 type title to let them know the Wii is safe.

Agreed. Besides, look at how bad the iPod has been bastardized. I mean, a merger probably WOULD put a Wii in every home, but at what cost? Gaming would be lost in Apple's tendency to be a multimedia powerhouse, and the next handheld would be a PSP clone.

One more thing, I think the attitude of wanting to "keep its own ecosystem by itself" that both Nintendo and Apple hold is a main reason you will find that most Apple computer owners and Nintendo game system (with the N64 and GC) owners also own their competitive counterpart: a windows PC or a PS1 & 2.

Nintendo really is very comparable to Apple in both good and bad ways. Both succeed in making very innovative, unique products, both have a very devout following and both have recently had a mainstream ,break-through product. On the downside, both also tend to push away third party developers and they really do tend to want to keep all their success to themselves in most cases.

I would hate to see Nintendo and Apple merge. Steve Jobs is too much of a control freak.
