Mario Party 8 delayed…again? February 15, 2007
There are multiple conflicting release dates for Mario Party 8.
Wii.Nintendo.com is still saying March 5th, 2007, view
IGN is still saying March 5th, 2007, view
Nintendo.com is saying Q2 (April – June), view
EBgames is saying June 1st, 2007, view
Current speculation seems to suggest that the delay (If there is a delay) may be because the developers can re-work the game to have online capabilities.
At this moment this is only a rumor.
What do you think? Would you rather wait 3 more months for Online mode, or do you want to pick up the game in March?

there are a ton of wii games coming out between now and june 1st for me to spend my money on. i say delay the game, add the online function, and (for the love of god) ADD SONIC THE HEDGEHOG.

We’re talking about Mario Party not Smash Bros.
Though I wish there’d be a Smash Bros. Party~! w/ all the characters (1st-3rd parties) to choose from.
Delay it for Online Multiplayer. This would be the biggest Wii title to come if that happens, and well worth the wait.
I’m curious as to how the Online playing would be like.

Yeah online game would probably be awsome, but I don’t think they’ll be putting it in MP8.. since Pokemon BR is the first Wii title to have online gaming? or is it not o.O?

Since Nintendo is saying Q2 I would think it is going to be Q2. That isn’t a bad thing though, I would rather wait a little longer and have online play.

I preordered from EB Games and they guy told me May 1, 2007. But other links, as you mentioned, are March 5th. Hey if they want to add online capability, I can wait.

last i checked, my store was still showing a release date of march 5, but i will check tomorrow and report back

I would gladly wait longer to have online play in it. you can’t ALWAYS get people to come over to play the game with you. and if you have skype you can voice chat with the people your playing with online.

no, i meant add sonic to mario party 8. it’d be great to have him in SSB, obviously, but i think it’d be easier to add and animate him for mario party 8.
again, delay it if it means online play. that’d be very much worth it. but please, nintendo, don’t delay it and not add anything to it. make it worth the wait.

Sonic of course won’t be added to mario party.. for god’s sake, it’s freaking caled MARIO PARTY… it’s all about mario characters (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Toad, Yoshi, Wario, Waluigi, Daisy, Dry Bones, Boo, Donkey Kong, Shy Guy, etc…) I think i’ve never seen Sonic on a mario game.. have I?

Nintendo.com now has a March 5th release date! It’s even listed under “Upcoming games” as March 5th. Wii’ll see what really happens..

It would be awesome for Mario Party 8 to be online but I was furious when they said no so I put the Everybody Votes Channel to good use. The question is “Should Mario Party 8 be online, No or Yes” which is now try being approved by nintendo so if u guys see the question vote yes and they will consider.

Okay, I’ve done a lot of research on this, and I’m sorry to say that Mario Party 8 has been delayed until summer. I got this info from 1UP.com in the EGM (Electronic Gamer Monthly), and it is VERY likely that Mario Party 8 will feature online play. The truth is, Wii play was delayed because of a shortage of wii remotes, Mario Party 8 is the first Major wii game to get delayed AFTER a suspected release date. It doesn’t come with a wii remote, so I really don’t see any other reason! Especially since Nintendo Power published an article on it in their March issue. So just be patient.
