Spore confirmed for DS, EA to become Wii’s #2?

If you haven’t heard of Will Wright. It is not a MMO, it merely uses contents developed by others in your Universe. It’s an evolutionary game, you start out as a single-celled organism and then evolve until you are the almighty race, constantly altering your creation to better adapt to the environment. This game is also in some way confirmed for the Wii, if we are to believe this quote from the interview.

Well, actually we are going to go on all platforms, but we will come out on PC first.

Well let us pray this really does mean Wii as well.

Recently we posted the story that three major publishers would support the Wii, and EA is one of those three. EA’s CEO Larry Probst said the following:

Clearly Nintendo will always be number one on the Wii and Nintendo DS, but we think we have a realistic goal of being number two.

Now if that isn’t commitment. EA will have tough competition with THQ, Activision ad Ubisoft though, they all want a piece of the cake, but then again if EA refrains from releasing crappy ports, maybe they can claim that second place? A little note, EA has its hands in Spore.

The Godfather is the only port I’ve heard that they are making for the Wii. SSX Blur is a best-of series, Tiger Woods 2007 is a multi-platform title that can’t be considered a port, and Medal of Honor: Vanguard and Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix are ground-up games.

On the other hand, Ubisoft has a laundry list of ports; let’s see, Driver: Parellel Lines, Brothers in Arms: D-Day, Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (port of Two Thrones), and Blazing Angels, as far as I know.
