The Big Three Step Up!
The three biggest third-party distributers-EA, Activision, and THQ-seem to be making major strides in appealing to the Wii crowd.

With strong opening sales of Madden 2007 and Need For Speed: Carbon, EA suddenly has a resurgence of faith in Nintendo. Now, they announced a whopping 15 more titles to come from EA this year, including Medal of Honor: Vanguard, SSX Blur, the Godfather: Blackhand Edition, Tiger Woods PGS Tour 2007, and Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix. Hope to see some NBA Live, NHL, FIFA, Fight Night, a sequel to Freedom Fighters and maybe a Lord of the Rings game! We can only speculate…

The house that Activision built has numerous titles this year, starting with Spider-man 3 and Shrek the Third this spring, followed by versions of Call of Duty, Tony Hawk, and James Bond in the second half.ÂÂ

Even THQ is getting in the act with 11 more projects, including a number of Pixar and Nickelodeon titles, sequels to IP’s, and a WWE wrestling title (Smackdown vs. Raw 2008?). Hopefully we’ll see the next Red Faction and Destroy All Humans, and maybe even a sequel to Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy…
