You may throw a party, but the Wii IS the party February 1, 2007

welcome to my wii party - prepare to be pwnd

Simply put: Wii is fun. Have you had friends over to play yet? Every time I do you can chalk up one more person who says, “I’m so gonna get me one!” And the ad wizards at Nintendo smile as they see how their viral advertising continues to spread after the launch.

I took the Wii to my brother in-law’s house. Their family may be slightly dysfunctional and fight a lot, but when they played the Wii, they came together, talked with each other, laughed, helped each other play, and above all, just had fun! And having fun is what the Wii, and quite frankly what video games, are all about.

The Wii is generating “a new genre of parties.” You know about karaoke bars? You may have performed at one. Next? Wii party bars. Until those get built, keep the parties going at home.

You won’t be the only one having a Wii party. See at this site how others are serving tennis balls as well as hors d’oeuvres at their parties: wiiparty.net

Woo hoo Wii!

hmm... roth, when super smash bros brawl comes out, i will look to destroy u online. only cause anyone who would throw a wii party must be a worthy smash bros opponent. ill use jigglypuff if he's on it, thats total embarrassment! XD I cant wait! btw u did play smash bros at the party right?
  • I held a couple of Wii parties. I call my party the Wii-kend. The one we had before New Years was very successful. Though with only 1 wiimote and 4 gamecube controllers, the 13 of us still had a great time. With a 50" HDTV, you can not resist, just about anything looks good on it. YouTube really was the thing that shot it off that night. Street Fighter II on VC was blast to the past. We had turkey to grub on and a 12 pack. We stayed up until 5 AM in the morning.

I hope in the future we'll see some successful Karaoke games for Wii. We're big on karaoke and love to sing. So with karaoke, video games, food and drinks, that's a good time there.. \:D/

  • Unfortunately, I've been unsucessful at getting my wife to join in the Wii goodness with me. My second Wiimote is very lonely. She did mention that Bowling looked cool though :)
