EBAY: Complete N. American NES Collection January 30, 2007

Filed under: Fanboy — shanoboy @ 8:28 am

nes colleciton For all of us who feel the virtual console is a bit over priced, try paying thousands (bid is at $29,700 as I write this post) for the complete collection of NES games along with the NES system and all accessories.

The Ebay auction is offering all 670 Region 1, licensed NES cartridges. While this might seem a bit extreme, apparently quite a few people are interested since the auction has over 100 bids and has reached nearly $30,000 with 4 days to go (as of Jan. 30th).

Hmmm…. New car or 670 NES games? What’s a fanboy to do?

Check out the auction:

UPDATE: Over the first few days of the auction the price of the game collection skyrocketed to over $100,000 the suddenly plummeted down to $20,000. Now the auction has completely disappeared? No clue on what happened.

Well from personal experience when you are selling a large investment you don't have a lot of time. I still stand by my statements especially that ebay is flawed. Great auction though, very original.

Will, if you sell an item and the bidder retracts and doesn't purchase then you do not have to pay fees. Just contact eBay via the complaint system and you can have those fews added back onto your account. I know because I have tried to sell some things and people just come and lie and don't purchase.
I accept all bidders because really there is no risk, just time taken.

Hey Lewis, sorry you're having newbie blues but we were all new to ebay at some point in time. Quite frankly after you've been around for a while you find that the people that ruin you are always the inexperienced new people and not the people trying to commit fraud (there's no real way of knowing for sure). I didn't make it that way so why are you calling me the jerk. If the seller lets it go then why are you attacking me? Check out the retractions and you'll get a piece of what I'm talking about. Imagine you finish selling something for 10,000 grand then your highest bidder skates out on you. Did you know that the seller still has to pay a substantial amount of that 10,000 bid to ebay as a sellers fee? Ultimately Ebay is flawed and the new user stigma is a result of cut and run fraud and fake bidders not people like me who are trying to protect themselves by requiring feedback. Try buying some stuff on half.com (ebay with no auctions), sell some stuff, or buy low dollar items. All of which can raise your feedback score quickly.

MAN, Looks like something happened here. A lot of the bids were retracted. Fraudsters I guess.

maybe the link is busted, cause i see it at $20200 and 83 bids?
  • Lewis
hey will, i had 0 feedback and almost couldnt get my wii cause of jerks like u who wouldnt let me bid now i have 1 feedback and need 5 to sell my ps3 over seas, whats a noob to do?
  • Will
What no cleaning kit?!? Maybe someone wants to put these in a museum with a sweet mannequin wearing all the gear.

Seems to me you could find most of those games on ebay or else where for a few bucks each. A 6 figure deal just doesn't add up. I feel sorry for the seller if the usual ebay fraud is going on there. Look for the bidders with "0" feedback. I would know from experience.
  • DAMN~! Even includes my friend, R.O.B. in the collection. This is a Nintendo dream. If only all those games came with the original case and packaging.

A fanboy is to realise that there are games missing from this 'complete' set, and I don't mean the unlicensed games.
  • shanoboy
All I can say is if it is a prank, I feel sorry for the seller, cause EBAY is going to take a major chunk out of their ass in fees on this one.

Thats insane. I wonder if the winner will actually pay. And if you're serious about winning it don't bid on it now all you're going to do is drive the price higher...think people!
  • shanoboy
I almost think its fake. I mean, who has this kind of money? Its insane.
  • OMFG 30600US$ at this moment with 107 bids.. damn.. I would surely love to have 40k spare dollars to buy that.. but dah xD
