QJ.net has linked to a new video from EA’s upcoming Godfather title for the Wii. The video shows how the player goes about shaking down individuals to intimidate them – mostly by slamming their heads against anything in view. Cash registers, walls, you name it. The latter part of the video shows the pistol targeting system. Shoulders and legs are game, with the enemy reacting the way you would expect them to.

It looks like a load a fun! If the game has fully destructible environments, the game will have a load of replay value. Just as some people play GTA just to see how long they can keep up a 5 star wanted level, I can see myself popping in this title to bang someone’s head against in a toilet. :)

I have renewed faith in EA after seeing them make a great effort with Madden Wii. Can they deliver a mature game on the Wii? We shall see. So far, the graphics engine looks pretty smooth, and the interactivity via the Wii Remote should make for some fun sessions. Who knows, maybe the fight scenes will be second to Wii Boxing in terms of how much they make you sweat.

    I will definately be buying this game straight on release day. I played the PS2 version a little bit, but didn’t see a connection to the movie since I was just thrown into the middle of the gameplay. Well it’s funny, I would’ve expected to have some posts about “tacked on Wiimote controls” by now, considering that as far as I can tell from what I’ve heard, that’s what’s going to happen. But at least it looks like they are trying hard not to make it tacked on but instead integrate it. I really liked the videos I’ve seen up to now and since the movie is one of my favourites, of course I will enjoy the game.

    Looks cool, but since I’m a total cheap ass, I probably wont be getting this one, renting yes, but even if I like it, I probably wont get it. Hell, I have trouble justifying spending $50 to get Metroid 3! I have always bought my consoles around 2 years after they come out, so even $30 for me is allot of money for a game :(

    Well that game looks really nice. I’m not into Mob games myself, but I was thinking in terms of getting rid of the ”Wii is a kiddie system” mentality for a lot of people. True there isn’t any blood that I could see, but its still pretty violent for a Nintendo game.

    Hopefully this is a step in the right direction and there will be more of this coming soon.
