I don't know why Nintendo don't make an accessory that scales the wii to 720 or 1080, that's the only way to get rid of those jagged lines. otherwise you only get the super blurry image of 480i or the super colorful but extremely jagged lines of 480p. The cables don't make a big difference with the lines, just the colors.

I bought an official component cable and I'm loving it, but there's one thing that annoys me: whenever there's a blue transition, like the sky changing from night to day, I get these vertical lines on the blue area, they're like half an inch apart and slightly darker blue. Also, when I play GC games on my Wii I get the same type of thing for all transitions.

@Gavin
"Wow, that sure is awful. It really does look like GC graphics no matter what cables you use."

I just bought the Component cables from Asyd and on my 16:9 52 inches TV: THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL! Everything still looks edged and squared... And yeah, I changed my setting to 480p...

I'm really disapointed...

I wouldn't say the comparisons are stellar, mainly because they are photos of the image on a TV, rather than input directly into a computer.

My CRT has component input and the only thing I usually notice between SVideo and Component when using my DVD player is the colors seem more vibrant.

Going to be getting component cables soon for my Wii anyway.

[...] If you’re thinking about using the bundled composite cables instead of forking up the extra dough for the offical cables, you may want to think again. Thanks to our good friends over at WiiNintendo.net, we have some stellar comparison photos of Twilight Princess with and without the official composite cables below. Note that official component cables are on the left and the regular AV cables are on the right. I dunno about you, but I’m getting me some component cables; I think it will be worth the wait! [...]
