Tom and Jerry Tales DS Impressions

Based on the famous duo’s latest television series, Tom And Jerry Tales revolves around the theory that Tom, who is a cat, wants to eat Jerry, who is a mouse. In order to facilitate this process, Tom has stolen all of Jerry’s cheese and hidden it around the household and in other locales. Jerry is less than thrilled about the prospect of becoming food, but on the other hand, he’s a mouse who likes his cheese enough to risk Tom’s wrath and regain his stolen dairy products.

On Nintendo DS, players can control Jerry in all his 3D, cel-shaded glory. Scampering around the different rooms in order to find the cheese, Jerry has to avoid Tom, who is waiting around every corner. Just like in the real cartoon, Jerry has certain tools at his disposal to thwart Tom’s ravenous ambitions, and certain touch-triggered events can activate traps to keep Jerry one step ahead of the crafty cat.

The Game Boy Advance version features 2D environments and actions, but likewise features the same challenges, which allow for the madcap mania that the series is known for.
