Sony’s PS3 Price Drop in Japan
It appears as though an industry analyst has taken note of Sony’s PS3 price drop announcement for Japan.

The 20 GB version of Sony PS3 will now be retailing for 49,980 yen ($429), down from 60,000 yen ($515), and analyst Mike Wallace, from UBS Securities, released a memo detailing his thoughts on the drop. Wallace said the price drop was a “questionable business decision” and a “sign of weakness” from Sony.
Wallace also talked about how both the Xbox 360 and Wii will be cheaper than the 20 GB PS3 in Japan even after a price cut.
Sony will no doubt sell through its small initial shipment, but the long term effects of this news is still unseen.
