nDreams, New Development Studio

A former Eidos director has currently formed a new development studio entitled nDreams.

Design director Patrick O’Luanaigh has announced at the Leipzig Games Convention in Germany that he is to leave British publisher Eidos Interactive in order to start his own development studio, named nDreams.

O’Luanaigh previously worked as creative director at SCi, before taking over creative control of Eidos franchises such as Tomb Raider and Hitman, following the acquisition of the publisher by SCi last year.

His production credits also include Total Overdose, Galleon and Conflict: Desert Storm II and he has also authored the book Game Design Complete for Paraglyph Press.

The location and size of the new studio has not been announced, but, according to UK-based website Gamesindustry.biz, O’Luanaigh indicated at his speech in Leipzig that the new company’s titles would focus on improving storytelling in games – also the topic of his talk. However, he did not discuss possible formats or publishing partners for any of his future projects.
