Brits Hunting Pirated Game Users

This is a lesson to all you kids out there!  DON’T SELL AND MAKE PIRATED GAMES!!!

You might want to rethink those “backup copies” of Xbox and PS2 games you have, at least if you’re living in the UK. A woman who apparently made a business of selling bootleg games has had assets totally nearly $474,000 seized following her conviction for piracy and counterfeiting.

Susan Roach, who’d already served a jail sentence of 12 months for piracy offenses, landed back in trouble when the Liverpool Crown Court assessed that she’d made more than $1.6 meeellion dollars from her illegal activities. She must repay about a quarter of that amount, and if she doesn’t come up with the cash, back to the slammer she goes.

While this and other similar cases are certainly victories for the Brits, one has to wonder if they’ll really discourage future entrepreneurs from entering the business.
