WiiNintendo.net goes to Nintendo Press Event in NYC July 21, 2006
So, I was invited to a Nintendo Press only event by a good friend in NYC to go play the Wii. I made the drive from Philly to NYC
We walked to the Le Park Meridian on Central Park, went to the Penthouse on the top floor.
There were all of these signs “NINTENDO PRESS EVENT” pointing to the place.
We finally got there and it turned out to be a DS event, the Wii event was the day before…
Got to play a bunch of DS games that are coming out this fall and next year, but at that point I really didn’t care.
They did have free booze, DS Lite’s, and accessories so I went to town and got blitzed. I kept asking the Nintendo guys hard hitting Nintendo answers and they would just say “I don’t know what you’re talking about”.
For instance I asked,
“What is the port on the bottom of the Wii going to used for?”
They said
“I don’t know what you’re talking about”.
Then I tried other things like,
“Is there any news about the Opera browser on the Wii?”
They said
“I don’t know what you’re talking about”
me:
“But, it’s on the Opera site, it’s confirmed”
Nintendo:
“Don’t know what you’re talking about”
This went on for about 2 hours.
I was able to film in depth both Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and Star Fox Command.
