Project Gray Company on Unnamed RPG
Project Gray has a virtually unknown RPG for EA. No platforms have been announced yet.ÂÂ
E3 railed through without much mention of Electronic Arts‘ Project Gray Company. Much of the team has worked on EA’s Lord of the Rings adaptations, and they’ve been slaving away on their secret project for more than a year before coming forward about its existence. Even now, however, vague fantasy-laden concept art and the idea of an “RPG” is all we have to go on.That all changes this week. In the latest team video interview on the game’s website, creative director Chris Tremmel promised a “huge Project Gray Company” announcement. Earlier in the interview, Tremmel dodged questions about whether or not the game was turn-based or real-time, what platforms it’s coming for, and, considering the team’s past works, whether it’s based in the Lord of the Rings universe.
We don’t have an answer for gameplay style, but simply saying it was an original IP would have been an easy answer for Tremmel. Maybe the title’s been an indication of the J.R.R. Tolkien connection all along, too – Project Gray Company? As in, Gandalf the Gray? The character’s actually named Gandalf the Grey in the books, but the lettering could simply be there to throw us off.
Or maybe we’re looking into this a little to deeply. Either way, stay tuned for more; Project Gray Company should become clearer later this week.
