Tokyo Game Show 2006 to be the Biggest Ever

134 companies signed, but no NINTENDO! This could be when Nintendo will pop the Wii launch date question.

Now in its tenth year running, the Tokyo Game Show has grown from its small beginnings to its largest turnout ever.

According to the TGS website, this year’s show will be the “largest ever, with 134 companies signed on to exhibit in over 1700 booths.

Nintendo has traditionally chosen to skip TGS, choosing instead to hold Space World in the same month. But Nintendo has not held a Space World event in the past few years and chose TGS 2005 to unveil Revolution (renamed Wii). They did not, however, exhibit on the show floor.

The Tokyo Game Show will be held between September 22 and 24, and there is currently no word on whether Nintendo will make an appearance.
