Soul Calibur 4 and Dragon Ball Z June 20, 2006

Namco has kept quiet, but a recent interview has let some info slip.

Another Soul Calibur was all but a forgone conclusion, but Namco’s avoided sequel talk, instead focusing on teasing Tekken 6 — although most hope they go back to the drawing board on that one, based on this year’s E3 footage. In any case, GameDaily published an interview today with Namco Bandai Chief Producer Daisuke Uchiyama about the popular Dragon Ball Z fighting games. An otherwise innocent interview, Uchiyama lets slip that he hoped to have the Tekken or Soul Calibur teams work on a DBZ game, except they’d already started on sequels.Oops. Then again, did anyone expect Namco to simply ditch the series? Hopefully Namco figures out what Sega apparently can’t with Virtua Fighter and include online match ups.
