Rebellion Dishs Core Design

SCi Entertainment Group (the guys and gals who control Eidos Interactive) no longer owns Core Design, the studio where Lara croft was born. The Rebellion Group has purchased the staff and physical assets of Core Design, which will be renamed [Rebellion Derby]. However, [Rebellion Derby] will continue to work on a new project with Eidos.Apparently Core Design isn’t totally bitter after their Tomb Raider remake was dumped in the trash in favor of Crystal Dynamics’ version.“Core’s development studio is one of the UK industry’s major success story’s [sic] and we’re delighted to have completed the deal with Eidos. With Next-Gen with us now, and the publisher requirements that brings, the studio’s talent and innovation allows us to continue to compete at a global level,” said Rebellion CEO and creative director Jason Kingsley.
