Mario Hoops 3 on 3

 

 

From the famous developer Square Enix we are about to see Mario’s first step onto the basketball court. Everything from dribbling the ball to throwing a koopa shell is controlled by the stylus.

From the screen-shots we know that Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Birdo, Donkey Kong, Diddy, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Peach, Wario, Waluigi  and Shy Guy will all be playable characters.

The action is on the top screen and the map is on the bottom. The score is dispayed on the bottom screen, and the top screen keeps track of your coins.  We don’t know what the coins are for, but a power moves might not be a bad guess.

We can trust that there will be a great assortment of courts just from the few screens we have seen. One is Luigi’s Mansion, and another is a raft floating through DK’s jungle. Who knows? We may even see some form of Rainbow Road!

And, of course, the multiplayer. You will be able to play three on three, hence the name. Whether it will feature DS download play along with multi-card play is unknown. And, of course, we can only hope that it will be Wi-Fi compatible.

It is slated to be released this fall, and we will keep you posted until then.
