Interview with Crossbeam May 24, 2006

We meet up with the guys behind Crossbeam Studios Entertainment for a quick video interview.

Wii begins the opportunity for many independent developers to get their foot into the game development door. Because system development kits are so cheap – just a few thousand dollars compared to the monstrous prices for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 development kits – up-start developers can easily get their hands on the tools they need to begin making software for Nintendo’s next-gen console.

One company that comes to mind when we talk about indie developers is Crossbeam Studios. The company has been writing and working on game ideas for the last few years and is currently finalizing plans with a publisher to bring some of its software to Wii. Currently, the developer is working on three projects: Orb, Thorn and Darkness. We’ve written an extensive preview on Orb in the past, and we even interviewed the company about its future several months back.

During E3 2006, though, AMN Wii was able to talk to the guys behind Crossbeam Studios in person. Site editor-in-chief Phillip Levin and editorial content director Casey Ayers met up with CSE (Crossbeam Studios Entertainment) director Greg Szemiot and co-director Greg Nichols for an interview about Crossbeam Studios, its future, its games and more.
