Controllers NOT Rechargable

In an interview between the Wiire and Lance Barr of Nintendo, he confirmed that the controllers will NOT be internally rechargable. This may come as a blow to many, especially knowing that the battery life will be considerably lower than that of a Gamecube Wavebird. But, he did say that a rechargable battery pack may be sold seperately.

But why? It is simple, it is cheaper to provide, cheaper to buy. I personally already have rechargable AAs.
