XBox Live More Innovative Then Wii Controller May 4, 2006

Filed under: News — cheswick @ 11:22 am

According to Microsoft VP Peter Moore at least:

“If the controller is different and innovative; fine. But I would say that Xbox Live is the bigger innovation. It depends on your definition of innovative. If having a DVD style controller defines innovation; great. I would argue that talking millions of gamers and connecting them with friends and strangers around the world… I’d call that pretty innovative.

I’m assuming Mr. Moore wasn’t aware that millions of gamers were already playing online well before the advent of XBox Live.

Ummm.... Nintendo Wi-Fi in much more innovative. What happened to the online games played on computer? And Phantasy Star Online (way before Xbox live...)...?

Peter Moore has it the wrong definition of innovative:
"I would argue that talking millions of gamers and connecting them with friends and strangers around the world… I’d call that pretty innovative."

That's not innovative, it's cool, but it's been done before.

Nintendo DS's wifi is more innovative then Xbox live.
